I paint what disappears. Each canvas begins with a real object — a bloom, a fruit, a pulse of flesh — and follows its vanishing. What interests me is not the object itself, but the moment it slips elsewhere: the after-light, the residue, the edge of being.

Masha Brzhezinskaia (artist name: mashabr) is a painter based in Utrecht, Netherlands. Her work explores the threshold between animate and inanimate through colour, gesture, and ultra-matte black pigments.
Her paintings are held in private collections in the Netherlands, Norway, the United States and New Zealand.
